Well, it was a beautiful & incredible adventure moving to Melbourne for six months. Unfortunately my journey was short-lived, but that doesn’t mean anything in regards to what I learnt, what I saw, who I met, how I related, how I found my own soul. It felt refreshing, and exciting. I met the most beautiful people - from the enthusiastic and bubbly Orlando Sanpo, to the stunning Evelyn Rivera, my boss but a great friend for the rest of my life Steve Diffey, a champion and a heart of gold Joy Chung, the Cafe superstars of the Superstore including Queenie, Sheri, Taleb, Gin & more, the most honest and indescribable soul of Emma Gardner, my immature but kind-hearted hilarious friend from TAFE in Brisbane who joined me on our photographic adventure - Mark Taylor, my long-lost sister who introduced me to things I wanted to know and how I should approach things and people in my life - Marlene Habib, a smiling heart and motivated to know more Tania Zhang, Natasha Colvin - the most feminine woman but the maddest bitch at heart.
Working in a photography studio was quite different to what I expected. To be honest, it did down my thoughts and hopes of photography; but I believe its because of the constant repetition and clients who weren’t ever actually looking for photos. However, if you need to obtain communication and basic lighting skills, then working in a studio for a short period of time is sure to improve them.
Here are some shots I gathered from working in Melbourne at ImageSuperstore. I wish the studio all the best while it undergoes its pressures, and slips through the walls of its weaknesses. This unique studio has so much potential. I wish good luck to the people who are not giving up on it. You will learn so much.
